You all lost me there for a minute but are we now saying K&N 57i induction kit is the oneto fit, not GSR?!!!

confused....

This was a very tongue in cheek comment about the fact that the K&N takes its air from the hot top of the engine so should be less likely to cause icing.

Of course, cold air is denser and better for combustion, so for performance gains, fit a GSR, for a noise and performance loss, but possibly no icing, fit a K&N.

Is the factory fit induction set up of the Cinq Sporting to blame for the massive flat spot at about 3000 rpm that they suffer from cold in warmer weather?

ah, i'm with ya. No, thats exactly what i don't want - paying for more noise and less power - in fact i would like my car to be silent and infinitely powerful in an ideal world.

So who's this mystical 'old school' character who sells these things? I can't find him on here.

Also whats this MPI/SPI thing? two different engince types in Cinq sportings or sumn?

cheers

d

Old School is GSR. Tuner who, amongst other things, makes the intake system. Comes on here every so often.

MPI = Multi Point Injection

SPI = Single Point Injection

All stock Cinq Sportings are SPI, Sei 1108s can be SPI or MPI, depending on the year of manufacture.

The MPI has 4 injectors and a rather more sophisticated (and OBDC2 compliant) engine management system. Whether it's actually more powerful is a moot point.
