Technical Dnt sound gd

My engine is making a metal tapping noise like when u hit a meatl with metal around the rocker cover area dnt snd healthy at all and its gotten louder so im becoming a bit concerned now any ideas? Also i stopped the car and when i restaterted it it made a horrible screeching noise which also didn't snd gd [V]

Is the engine oil on the top mark ?
Sounds like oil starvation to me.

i thort it was on the top mark i only dun a oil change etc about a month ago does it mater if is? I take it oil starvation ain't gd either.

No oil starvation is bad as you could seize your engine, check you oil level again

When u changed the oil u changed the oil filter at the same time?
Oil starvation,one the first part's of the engine not to get oil is the rocker shaft and tappets.

Well i checked it and its fine about 3/4's up and the noise has disapppeared as do most of my cars strange noises

I'd buy some flushing oil, give it a good flush and put some fresh oil and a new filter on just to be on the safe side. 15W40 is the reccommended grade for our cars, I'd suggest GTX or GTX Magnatec.

Yup ive got that GTX 15-40 and a champion oil filter it seems 2 b going gd again now ill have to leave it as funds r low and i got a body kit to fit now
