hi....
new to this forum and not good in english.

just bought 1998 marea 1.6 auto from garage.
display panel show gearbox oil temperature high.
what is the real problem?
if gearbox problem,can the car travel at 120km/hr?
help me please.

Hi apai and welcome to the forum

Will the garage not check the fault for you? I do not know what your purchase protection laws are.

If not, then check the gearbox oil. Does it have any, or is it very dirty and gritty? If the oil looks OK check out the temp sensor.

If your gearbox is running hot then you have a problem and should drive carefully until you get it looked at.

You can go to Johanbrian workshop to fix the "optimizer" for the gearbox.
