hi,
hope someone can help, the doblo is acting up again this time leaking diesel from the engine.
ive only noticed this past few days but the van smells of diesel after ive drove it and turned engine off, there is a small leak somewhere.
it starts and drives fine and trip computer states 48mpg, but after a drive and switching engine off it will leak drops of diesel for about half an hour after.
found this strange as it does not miss as in taking air in but ecu might compensate somewhere, no black smoke.
it seems to be coming down the back of the engine and off the sump pan.

could it be fuel pump leaking, return pipe from the injectors or injector seal?

havent had time to look properly yet.

YES + YES..;)

as it's dribbling down engine,
I'd assume it's fuel related, as the @30 mins of drips is as rail pressure dissipates;)

look for sticky residue:yuck::D

tightened up what unions that i could yesterday and today no leak.

going to get some ramps and have a better look but very tight in the engine bay especially to poke a spanner in, more concerned that its started just same time as the cold weather. might be contracting somewhere.

as the cold weather is back so is my diesel leak, just a drip off the sump.

i read various threads on several cars about the Bosch cp1 seals breaking up causing the hp pump to leak, but with my mirror and torch I cant see any obvious signs of leakage.
would any one know where on the back of the block that may it may be leaking from?

my guess by now is that it is the pump with a slight weepage.

I have a 1.9 JTD 105bhp, and once had a similar problem when I accidentally dislodged one of the pipe connectors on top of the fuel filter (can-like thing at back of block near the bulkhead). It allowed a small amount diesel to escape. The connectors were quick release with a button or clip. If you haven't already, just make sure it isn't that.

Best of luck, hope it's not something expensive.
