I said that so you wouldn't bite my head off when I was insulting yours :p lol

When you can afford one of these then please come back with the insults when you have an idea on what exactly you are insulting!

If i wanted to insult yours i would be in my right having owned a punto before i would know what i was talking about....

I will do just as soon as I can... I've been in them both, and they're totally different cars, which makes it more dificult to choose... Really I want both :( but I want, never gets.

EDIT: Mr Circuit, and Ms Boo.. Please no bickering on MY thread... remember ME ME ME ME... ;)

Id say the barcetta just because you've wanted it for so long. The coupes cool but the barcetta would be cheaper all round.

The alfa i just dont like, never have  its something in the styling that puts me off it

sowwe alex ;)

but if anyone is gunna insult my car then it will be me :p or h or even pinin :D

I am judging by what you have said before and i would chose the Barchetta but then again it depends why you want the cars..

i had the same problem between the coupe the and stilo.. thats why I asked the owners to what they thought.

And guess which i chose :p

EDIT: just had a thought... (whoohoo) you need to think about if you can afford the running costs , parts, service etc

coupe and stilo in different leagues  , you mad woman :p

i glad you chose the coop :D

you should get barchetta alex, you give me the money and i go and buy one for you :p

all the coops i seen apart from the ones on here have been driven my middle aged men :(

Yeah... I know, thats not a problem, so long as the car doesn't completely fall apart as soon as I get it home, and in that case I can always sell a kidney or part of my liver or something ;). Thats also the downside of the coupe, they're great when they're going. but they're a bit flakey and the only ones I can afford have 75K + on the clock where as you can get a quite low milage Barchetta for a similar price.

Not yet, but I've been driven in them (GTV and Barchetta and I've driven the MX5 (although I kept the hood up so nobody saw me) and R*ver MGTF 115 <-- not only do I hate them anyway, but I look over the windscreen, and its a rover and it was a dare ;) !)

Alex if it was my money it would go on the coupe, I have to work on these quite a bit & they are actually really well screwed together apart from there's a weak spot on the rear bumper in the corner which is prone to cracking! The alfa is a definate no no in my book, I unfortunately have to work on these too quite a lot, I wouldn't know about the barchetta but just looking at it I would definately take it over an MX-5! (y)

I'd say the Barchetta without a blink of an eyelid. I see one usually everyday when im driving to uni, silver, nice car :) You're young and free from responsibility, so why not enjoy a 2 seater sports convertable? Theres time for practicality to creep in later on in life, by which you can just get a second car :D

Thanks luke... I've already been driving a practical car for the last 6 years, even the XR3 was capable of carring passengers (perish the thought :D ). I think I'm back on the Barchetta school of thought.

Thanks for everybodys views.

I guess the real issue I was having is, do I get a coupe or do I get a 'roadster', but perhaps when I'm going through my mid-life crisis, I'll get an alfa romeo ;) . I'll still have access to me old escort so if I need a boot or find some friends I can use that.

Perhaps a mod might move this to LL... just incase anybody is cynical enough to think this is a post count hiker. (if they didn't they did now, such is the power of suggestion)

It appears that Sammi took my comments about her car to heart, I would like to wholy appologise to her as it was not meant as an insult to her car and was meant to be sarcastic. Sorry Sammi

No probs, but its very hard to read something and know if it was sarcastic or not, i am used to sarcasim cos my boyfriend is the most sarcastic person i know :p

HI

I have a Fiat Barchetta 2002 full leather etc, nice car but hard to fix, parts can sometimes take an age to get hold of, although the engine is from the Coupe 1.8, pushing out 130bhp, also the Punto GTI uses this engine. So engine easy to gets parts for. But everything else hard and expensive, look at Germany for parts!. Nice car in the summer but hell in the winter. Hence I have a £500 banger for the in winter.

Fiat Coups are superb, closest handling to a Ferrari you can get at this price. 20V nice but expensive to look after.

Fiat Barchetta are cheap for what you get but group 16 on insurance.
Cheap to buy, expensive to maintain, but I guess most cars are.
