I've taken the fiat badge off the boot, but the paintwork below is bright red. How can I get it to blend in?

Thanks

You say colour underneath badge is bright red... sounds daft but I assume the car is red? :)

You could try t-cut, otherwise you're pretty much lumbered.

depending on how bad it is theres two options
no.1 wich is what i did is flat the area down gently with some 1400 wet n dry and then rub up and polish.

no.2 wich would be better for sombody with no experience is to give it a good clean then rub up and wax

T-Cut made no difference. Looks like I'm gonna have to order a new fiat boot badge. Anyone got one lying around?

did you t cut the whole boot or just the bit where the badge was??

just where the badge was. i did it a couple of times but it made no difference whatsoever.

Someone on FiatForums suggested rubbing compound. Good/Bad idea for a noob? :p

Thats the colour your car used to be!! :)

Get the polish out (and preferably a mechanical rotary polisher) and give the whole car a good polish and then seal it.

It will look amazing afterwards!

rubbing compaound is dangerous. it takes paint off much more quickly that t-cut (several million times more quickly)

you shouldnt t-cut where the badge was, you need to t-cut everywhere else. if you take paint off all over the tailgate it will go back to its original red colour (faded paint removed)

i would use orignal t-cut all over the tialgate first, then red colour t-cut, then a wax. it should blend in.
