Technical Dead Fiorino

Good Evening, I'm hoping someone out there can help me out. My brother rang me to say his P'Reg 1996 Fiorino van 1.7D started with power loss and spluttering to a halt. He made it home and parked up. He tried to start it the follwing day, it cranked O.K. despite sub zero temperatures, but wouldn't fire. Suspecting the glow plugs, he fit new ones, and it started first time, but soon after, it was losing power again, then refused to start. In addition, the immobiliser light is now on. He wants to by-pass the immobiliser. Can this be done without any special kit, or is it more involved? Any guidance either way would be much appreciated.

Hi Steve,you can by-pass the immobiliser its a little fidly and requires getting to the back of the fuel pump,if you aint fixed it yet i can get u my mates number who can guide u through over the phone,sometimes the fuel cut off switch corrodes inside the van itself and gives the same fault.

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the info, you're right, it's a bit on the claustrophobic side around that pump.

As it happens, my brother got stuck into it on his return from his Holidays, and found some broken wiring where you said. It's now cured.
