Got a new pressure cap for the header tank?

Also, coolant is wise as that coolant looks carp....dirty and rusty

Halfrauds oil and filter will be cool. 15w40 or 10w40.

Flush, back flush and double flush both the enigne/rad and the heater circuit though as it doesn't look good. Blow down the smaller disconnected pipes to check for any blockages.

Once done, make sure to bleed it properly, watch the gauge, make sure the fan kicks in etc.

If it did get super hot then get the head skimmed or at least checked.

One last thing...take the header into a local fiat dealer. You may get nothing, but they may give you a new one or suggest a reason/cause for you at least (y)

Cheers for the advice, I got a new tank and cap for £10 off ebay already, but I'll take all the hoses off one by one and make sure they are clear. I'm begining to suspect it was overheating despite my womans efforts to tell me otherwise. She said when she pulled over the fan was on. Hopefully, I can find a machinist to do the head before the weekend. Going to be fun, as I'm only able to start work on it on friday.

Stupid bloody thing

Taken 3 days to try and remove the head. I had one round bolt in the cylinder head, tried to drill it out and blunted a brand new Titanium drill bit, I'm about 1/2 way through that, thought I could remove the rest of the bolts and can't get to the middle one.

Anyone got a match?

The socket was a standard hex, 1/2" drive.
Because its a 1/2" drive it won't fit inside the head to get the bottom middle bolt (number 1 in the re-tightening sequence) All my tools are either 1/2" or that dinky one that halfords use.

I don't think I'll need to re-thread the block as I'm only taking the bolt head off, hopefully i'll be able to get the bar out by hand after that. I'll be willing for anyone in sheffield to help, if they fancy some beers.

Other than that, I give up.

Pocket is £414 lighter now, as we gave up, took a massive chunk out of my finger, snapped some "Snap-on" sockets and I lost my temper when I tried to drill out the second stuck bolt, slipped and started drilling the head.

So, in the short time we've owned this car, we've spent £1400.
I've told the missus to get rid of it, but she likes it. I've washed my hands of it.

If it breaks down within the next 12months, my Delica is dragging it up burbage and its going off the edge.
