Just had the 60,000 mile service, MOT and cambelt replaced on my Punto JTD by DBS Desira in Hertford.

As always, I was made to feel welcome, left my car Friday morning to have the work undertaken, and asked them to look at a 'whiring' noise on the engine.

Turns out the noise was a cambelt idle-tensioner (whatever one of those is) and the car also needed a new waterpump and front pads. The cambelt idle-tensioner and water pump were replaced under warranty (in it's 3rd year and about to run-out). The work was completed today, and the major bonus for me is that Desira altered the price of the cambelt change to reflect the warranty work undertaken on the idle-tensioner, from what I can guess they took 2 1/2 hours off the labour (£150) which is a nice surprise :D

The reception staff are great, always keeping in contact. I really enjoy taking my car there (how many people can say that about a Fiat dealer :( ) and while their labour rate may be expensive I am happy to pay for great service (y)

My car feels brilliant, and I loved driving it home tonight. It is a shame Fiat don't make a car that I want to replace my JTD with in the coming months, but there was a nice Alfa 147 1.6 Lusso for sale so perhaps I will be returning to DBS to do more business ;)

It is telling that I have 3-4 other dealers who are closer than DBS (including one that is half a mile from work, when DBS are 40 miles away) but I always go back to them for great service (y)

I travel a good 15-20 miles to my Desira dealer in Bury St Edmunds, despite there being a Fiat dealer a mile away from my work as well! Well worth the petrol so you get people who know what they are doing working on your car :)

Funny that people actually like DBS in Hertford. I had the Fiat alarm fitted there last month & sure they did a good job of fitting it but I aranged to have the car picked up ( because I work 15 miles away from Hertford) the driver was late & come 5:00pm when it was time to go home they still hadn't delivered it back & noone phoned to say where it was or if it was coming back at all that day. Fortunately I work for a VW dealer & I managed to blag a courtesy car for the evening. Also whenever I have asked about the upgrade disk for the connect system they always say we don't know. All in all I think they're a bit lacklustre really.

Car now leaking diesel, would appear to be from the fuel-filter area. Hold the praise... :(

Nice 50 mile round-trip this afternoon. Now that is a pain
