On our new to us 595 it appears there is a fault with the boost dashpod. I have searched on here but can't find a definite fix.
Symptoms are:
1 that it appears not to light up with the lights on
2 that it just doesn't work. This seems to be cured by switching off counting to 20 then switching back on.

From searching it appears voltage related but some report that even with a new battery it doesn't always cure it.

I will put battery on charge overnight tonight to see if that helps.

Anyone got any ideas on a permanent cure?

12.9v is the voltage a while after changing finished.
14.2v was the charging voltage.
12.9v is considered fully charged on a lead acid battery after the surface charge has dissipated.
LifePo4 batteries have a higher voltage but they are not used as starter batteries.

It's gone.
I removed the pod and fitted a 68R holder to fill the hole. I had to fashion a bracket for it to clip into under the dash but that was simple enough.
Now got a nice clean view from the driving seat, total cost £9.99 for a dummy socket.
