Thank you Turtle for posting the Photo Guide, I changed my bulbs in a few minutes having viewed it, after spending ages trying to do it the Fiat E-manual way and pulling out two knobs! The bulbs are number R286 and cost £1 for two at my local motor factor.
By sheer coincidence, after I finished my car, I checked the lights on my wife's Ford Streetka as it is going in for its MOT. I noticed that one of the array of bulbs in its high level brake was out so took it apart for inspection. The bulbs in it are R286's so I was able to fix it with the working used bulb from my car, that was lucky, for a change.
