I understand brakes are always an issue as your having to use them harder. But with that aside. If I remapped my t-jet 120 to the 150bhp+ I've been promised by a garage is there any mechanical dangers? Are the gearbox, clutch, fly wheels even the gaskets etc up to the performance increases as a stock car. I of course will be abiding by the sped limits. But more power allows me to get there quicker and I also have the extra power to get me out of a dangerous situation should/does it occur.

A remap is something I really want to do. But I'm no street racer. I don't want all the lowering springs and induction kits etc associated with speed. I'd just like my car to have that extra power.

Yes they can handle it, the brakes are brilliant as stock so you wont need to upgrade, especially if you arent breaking the speed limit and aren't a boy racer.
You've sort of answered your own questions.

I'll be putting more power through a lot of mechanics though. My main question probably involves that already troublesome M32 gearbox.

Are you 100% certain you have the m32 box in a 120 t-jet?
Im almost certain its been mentioned before that the 6 speed on the 120 is different to the m32.
However, even if it is the m32 it will cope with 150bhp, its torque that they struggle with, especially diesel torque.
The abarths cope ok with the m32.

As long as you dont drive hard constantly i cannot see you running into any problems.

Hundreads of people have remaps or fit tmc tuning boxes and drive their cars hard day in, day out.
Which you have said you will not.
There is never any guarentee that a clutch will last, it depends on how the cars been driven through its life.
Thats all i can say.

Then maybe it is! I waa referring to the thread i linked to from memory but as long as you dont keep booting it in 6th (ive heard this is the problem gear) you should be ok!

I've just been to longlife to get my straight through and remap, I've just arrived home, i believe I'm pushing 190 BHP! on the drive home (about 1 hour) i had only positives, no problems occurring straight away, very good investment, £150 well spent, i don't think you will have any problems :)

You just got a full exhaust and remap for £150...?
Please tell me where you went...? I got a full 2.5" catback for my t-jet and that was £500... from longlife.
