Technical Damn clutch!

Clutch is squeeling like a pig, and is tough getting into 1st. How much will it cost for a new one + fitting? Rough estimate? Needs a new handbrake cable too, but that can wait

something like £150-200 for the clutch think the handbrake cable is around £30 can't remember how much i paid but its a fairly simple job 2 do

Got the Haynes manual out to adjust the handbrake cable, and in the picture it shows 2 nuts to adjust, where as on my car, i only have 1 nut, therefore cannot be adjusted. Shoddy workmanship from the previous owner perhaps? Anyway, takes 8 clicks to fully secure the car...heh

£200 for a clutch? worth more than the car

There should be a nut on the cable thread part, and a C shaped one to lock it off with.

looks like it has been replaced before, but minus 1 nut. Clutch is more worrying though. Woke up to de-badged bonnet this morning too, someones gonna die..... [!]

mine used to do 7 clicks. now it only takes 3 -4 depending on hill. i only had 1 nut (oo err! :I) on my cable and so i had to replace everything on mine! previous women owner clearly didnt know anything about cars as when i got it, she asked ME where the dip-stick was!![!]
