I have been asked to look at a problem with 17-plate 595.
It was damaged, and then vandalised. Sadly, some parts are missing (lights, intercooler, radiator, seats and some other random things.
Anyway, the plan is to find out if the engine is still good, as a transplant into another 500.
After a bit of work making things safe, we have dashboard lights, and (other than the Airbag ECU) no errors on modules except ones which are expected (bulb warnings for missing lights etc.)
The fuel cutoff has been reset, and the message no longer appears on the dash.
However, no activity from the starter when turning key.
Starter confirmed to work with direct connection.
(This is the point where I was roped in)
I have scanned it with MultiECUScan and I can't see anything obvious to cause a problem except the "Engine Startup" parameter showing "Not Available"
Both circuits for Clutch pedal operation registers in ECU.
Does anyone know what other conditions the ECU expects to be set for this to change to Available?
I normally deal with 169 Pandas, which have a lot less electrics...
