Well i'm pleased to say i've got my Uno Turbo back on the road in less than 3 weeks since i damaged the Hybrid T25 but boy did i miss the car. Only thing is i've only just realised how fast she actually was with the Hybrid Turbo as now i have temporarily fitted a standard T2 back on the car until i have got the cash to buy a new T28 Roller bearing Turbo :D

Heres some pics for you to see. Dont know how it happened but you can see in the pics that the turbos got a bent blade on the compressor wheel and you can also see that the turbo seals have been blown in the other pic.
Also decided to change my Manifold as it looked like its had its day so decided to swap it with a spare Punto GT one i had lying around.

Also fitted a brand spanking new front mount intercooler, you can see just how small the original one is compared to this. Its made the car feel slightly more laggy BUT once the Turbo kicks in it makes the car pull a lot harder than before. Other bits i fitted were my oil breather tank and a Kent Vernier pulley. Also Fitted an FSE power boost valve but had to return it as it was faulty and leaking petrol!!!

Really wanted red hoses but was told i'd have to wait 4 weeks for them and i cant wait that long as i need the car on the road. Will probably change them in the future sometime.

Still got one or two bits left to do such as mesh front bumper, get some wheel caps, fit fogs etc but just havent had the time or money at the moment to do it lol Next on the list are some coil overs like Duncs and a bigger brake conversion. :D Cant wait!!!! hehe

Well thats about it for my little mini update on the Turbo, hope you all enjoy and i welcome any comments or suggestions.

did you have to make many changes to fit that intercooler.

Wasnt that difficult to do really, just had to cut away part of the front slam panel with an angel grinder, then just made up some brackets to hold it into place, from there on just had to decide the best way to plumb it in.

wats that alloy thing with brass bits coming out

Its an oil breather tank mate. Lets the car breath more easily and reduces crank case oil pressure. This is a 3 way one which is meant to cycle oil back down into the sump but i'd need to modify the block to do that. At the moment it just collects all the crap out and then you just drain it.
If i had one in the first place It may have saved my turbo from blowing the seals prior to this which is the reason I decided to fit one now.

O Is It A Bit Like An Oil Catch Pan That Is Wat I Have Got.
Wat Pipes Did You Use To Fit Intercooler Or Did You Make Them Up Yourself. I Want To Do It But Dont Know If I Want The Hassle And I Dont Want To Take Xcar Off The Road.
I Was Thinking Of Fitting A Cossie Intercooler

Yeah thats pretty much what it is really an oil catch tank. As for the intercooler well i had to get bigger hoses as the inlet and outlets of this intercooler are much bigger than a standard Uno Turbo I.C. As for a Cossie intercooler that would make a good mod for your car, its a popular upgrade by the UT boys and you can even mount it in a similar position as the standard I.C as well so deffo a lot less hassle mate!!

Hey frosty, how/where did you run the boost pipe from the turbo to the intercooler

Hi steve, I had to have a new boost pipe fabricated coming off the intercooler down towards the turbo. A 90 degree silicon hose facing down comes off the cooler which the new hose is connected to and then this goes to the turbo.

u goin down USC with it? are the TC boys goin? may have to say hi!

Dunc

Dunc your the []D [] []\/[] []D Daddy Of UTs mate lol :D

As for USC i'm still undecided, the only reason i was gona go was to do a quarter mile run but as my car isnt as fast as before i dont feel like going anymore lol
And not many of the TC boys really wana go to that either as some feel its too "Chavesque" as Lobster says lol Might go to the Forza Italia Show the following weekend instead, Or i might go to them both. Dont think that theres gona be a TC stand either this year :( But i'm sure that some of TC will be around, U Deffo better come and say hello if i'm there biiiiiiiiatch lol

Just Got some "Bling Bling" for the UT lol which i think look pretty cool, chrome rocker cover, chrome strut brackets, chrome radiator clips and accelerator bracket.

As for the engine well having blown my piston ring number 3 due to a faulty power boost valve i decided to give the engine a freshen up and had the following done.

New Goetze piston rings, new main bearings, high pressure oil pump, glaze busted block, balanced, ported and polished head, gas flowed, open valve throte and waste valve guides, Re cut valve seats, re lap valves, new stem oil seals & skim, Group A head set (payen) new head bolts, custom made cam.
Once the engines run in properly again i'll wind the boost up again :D running standard boost and turbo for now.
more pics soon...

And thanks for the comment Tom. Hows that beast of a mark 1 you sprayed it yet???
Still got more shopping to do lol On my list are coilovers which i just missed on ebay :( bigger brake conversion etc etc, and then tidy up my engine bay nice and neat like Duncs :)
