Does anyone know what are those buttons for by the way?

I've removed the fuel filter and gave a good shot with air compressor gun between the lines + fuel pipes from the engine. no blockage at the pipes.

on autodata it says it should work on 3bar and 2.5 bar with the regulator.
I think it's the same fuel pump like in the 60/75 puntos.

Proves it's not blocked. Doesn't prove it's doing anything useful. Removable fuel filters are a service item.

But pumps are pretty reliable -- if the fuel filter is OK -- worthwhile trying one from a scrappy.

fuel pressure sounds pretty low, its lower than a stoock cinq or sei sporting anyway..

and i'm with fingers, change the filter first - they are really cheap and are rarely changed during any service. Whereas a fuel pump is not cheap and if you change that it would be sensible to change the filter at same time anyway. So just change the filter and see if that fixes it first...

Changed the fuel filter today and result was the same.
I've decided to change the fuel pump:

Old pump vs. New:

Does that look like a half tank?

Before I changed the pump, my fuel level was half full.
After the change, it's almost empty and the light came on after 20 min drive.
Does my tank looks almost empty? I don't think the new pump is faking.

Anyways 1 problem solved. the power came back to the car.
But I have problem on idle now, you can see in this video I took:

It's a whispering that drives me nuts, also farting from the back of the exhaust. (is that misfire?)
It's only when idle, engine is shaky.

Going to check it today with my mechanic.
Although it sounds like a sensor problem, because when I start the car it runs normal and after 30 seconds this problem occurs.
Even when hot, I turn off the car for like 10 min and then start it, problem only occurs after 30 seconds+-.

One more thing which I would like to ask, when I open the fuel cap I don't here pressure at all (pssss) unlike my other punto.
bottom of the cap looks broken but I don't know if it matters.

i got same like u when opening petrol cap and not hearing any sounds, before some punks cut my fuel lines and before i changed them i could hear that sound as u are describing, strange stuff , cant smell any gas inside or outside car, must be bug?

Nope no smell of petrol. Putted a new fuel pump and filter in. also changed the pipes that are going to the filter. renewed everything I could.

I've changed the fuel cap today! Car runs normally!!

No more lags on idle and exhaust gasses moves out freely unlike before.
The old fuel pump worked on 1bar instead of 3bar. Could it be that someone ripped off the end of the cap so it won't build pressure or something because it was low?

Still no psss though when I open the cap, but I think my problem is solved.
Will wait for a few more days to be sure.

Does anyone know what is this pipe for?

I don't have it on mine. is it the pipe that brings hot air to the manifold in cold countries like in the 55S/SX?

Well problem not solved like I thought. I think the whistling sound comes from around the canister and not the engine. Don't know if it's broken or not, it's under the wing.

I suspect it since I don't hear any pressure relief sound when I open the fuel cap.

It's possible the canister is full of sand or something or that the solenoid is kaput. Generally it's possible to just bin the canister, leave the solenoid connected, or even just connect the two hoses together.

On most cars it's just a passive emissions device -- directing fumes from the tank to the inlet tract -- but GM and FIAT may have concocted some strangeness.

Checked out some things today and found this mess:

Is that the MAP vacuum hose? Green connector belong to it?

Hose is going to the manifold + 1 more vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator. both look in a good condition.

Also found this weird wiring. Does my car have 2 lambda sensors?

This 1 lamda sensor is in the same circuit with another 2 pin connector

One more lambda?

That wiring is coming from the inside of the car. is that even a lambda sensor?

Checked compression today and it was:

CY1: 150
CY2: 150
CY3: 160
CY4: 150

I was told it's ok.
We found out a broken plug on CY1:

What do you think about the plugs?

It's only 2 weeks since I changed them.
Problem solved. Engine no more lag or pops from the exhaust.

One more thing we found is that the canister valve gets 11.50V from the connector but stuck close. when we connected a straight 12V from the battery, it opened.
Haven't found a solution for that.

Thanks, yeah cleaned them and putted back in, with a new plug instead of the broken one.
Car runs smooth now.

Could the canister valve be a problem? it won't open with it's connector but if I give it straight 12V from the battery it works.
Should I notice any differences with or without it?
