Why? I'd have thought it would be better to use the space to talk about yourself and then the employer can ask for references, when arranging an interview or something?

Oh and make sure the spelling and grammar is correct!
Ok - fair enough - maybe better to put 'excellent references available on request' - and have them ready for the interview, on a separate bit of paper.

EDIT - last time I prepared a CV was in 1996, lol ;)

Maybe leave certain GCSE grades in - is it Maths and English?!

As I stated, I am no CV expert when it comes to writing them, just trying to look at it from an employer angle...

Which exactly what im after.

ive looked over a few myself but looking at my own seems different. i know what ive achieved and link what im reading to this, but obviously an employer wont be able to do this so its got to get them interested in other ways.

A big key to it is the presentation - font used, spelling, spacing it all out, overall appeal..

Plus, tbh, it is down to you and your personality - that is so important on the day, although obviously you need a good CV to get your foot in the door.

Id just like to say a HUGE thanks to everyone that helped me on this thread.
All help and comments were greatly appreciated and hopefully will return better results within my job search.
Once again, Thankyou all (y) (y) (y)

Funnily enough, two - one possibly taken, the other for a trainee accountant - you may be too old though :p

And the wrong sex :D

My CV is rediculous, but as long as you get the main points in, you should get an interview at least. You will only have trouble with it when you are competing with LOADs of other applicants, and they need to shortlist it to only a few for interview purposes...

Interview technique is crucial IMO.

Oh yeah, if you don't get a response, its only because you are over-qualified :D ;)

well i sent cv off to a random recruitment agency for a job nearish me for alot more cash than the job im leaving, half hour later my answer phone calls me telling me they tried to call, left msg sayin person dealing off tomorrow back thurs and going to call me then (y)
