Technical Cutting out problem, any cure?

What a cr*p day, wallet stolen and now the 1.1 Active has started to cut out while driving

Seems to cut out when slowing/changing down, though it could be other speed bumps as well, as I slow and change down for those!
No trouble restarting, often it bumpstarts it's self.

Had a search on here and there's plenty of others that have suffered, but anyone with a fix before a take the friggin hammer to it?
It's pushing me over the edge right now

Unplug the two ECU connectors, spray sparingly with contact cleaner then replug - amazingly, this seems to have worked for me! - the annoying intermittent cutting out and bump-starting itself when going over speed bumps has ceased (I expect it will now recommence the very next time I drive it.....)
