Thanks for the advise about the exhaust guys. Having looked at the centre section of the exhuaust, it too doesn't look it has too long left so it's not just a back box I need.
I have decided to go with a custom stainless system from Longlife in Peterborough. http://www.longlife.co.uk/depots/exhausts-peterborough/
They will tailor the system to your specification concerning how free-flowing you wish it be as well as the resultant exhaust note and the shape of the tailpipe. The new system will run from just behind the sensor close to the flexi section, back through the centre box and out to the rear box.
Their work looks good and carries a life time guarantee, transferable should you sell the car.
The cost is £360 (£300 plus VAT) which I think is a good price and I'm due to get it done in the next two weeks. I'll let you know the results when it's back.

I had the exhaust fitted today at Longlife Peterborough which actually ran from the DPF back and so far, I'm very pleased with it. It is a 2" bore (standard is 1 3/4"), which breathes much better with a definite improvement to the throttle response and I am assured there will be a slight improvememt to the diesel economy too so happy days.

Early days, but so far I would certainly recommend them.

How is it possible we have a thread on stainless steel exhausts without pics of it installed on a 500?!?!?!?!?!

I'll start. Mmm, centre box delete:

Nice Alex! I like their treatment of the tailpipe, very original. I was offered so many choices of the tailpipe including a very girlie love heart shape which I managed to resist!

Have you carried out any other mods to your Sport? We have the same model so I'm always keen to see what everyone else is doing to their's.

'Heart shaped' caught my eye!! I have a 1.2 2008 lounge, and altho she has just passed her m.o.t with no probs and no sign of the exhaust having any probs, the end bit ( sorry not technical minded ) has gone yuk and I was thinking of just getting a new one, but after reading on here that the chrome tip may be welded on ? I was going to leave it ....but can you let me know where these are available and if anyone can clarify that on a lounge model the extra chrome end bit is not removable?

Suzi Love :)

Induction kit, Abarth 16's (by Ronal) and the standard Abarth lowering springs. I did have coilovers on but living in a building site makes them rather inpractical.

Hey Suzi, the tailpipe would be welded on so I think you would need to go for a whole back box with the optional heart shaped pipe.
If you still have your original Fiat back box then the chances are it won't last must longer - they are not made from the best quality steel! Go on, treat yourself! Longlife who supplied my system have franchises all over the country supply & fit a back box for less than £200 I believe.

Sounds good Alex. I'm quite happy with the ride of the Sport with the Fiat 16s & Avons I have on it but the induction kit sounds interesting. I couldn't find one and the space looks limited so I went for a K&N panel filter which has helped in terms of economy and performance. Where is your induction kit from?

Space is very limited so its a very work in progress situation, its my creation too. Bit more about it here -> https://www.fiatforum.com/500/320830-1-3-mjet2-95bhp-custom-induction-kit.html

I'll update the thread as I progress and then when its finished I'll pop a list of parts on for folks to build their own.

Hi Lincs!
Thanks for that, yes still have the original backbox, will go google them and find out! Got a detailer coming anytime now to have a look at Bibi and let me know whats needed to bring her back upto even better than when I got her! So a new exhaust taily bit would just finish her off lol!!

Suzi :)
