Hey since buying my Grande Punto I've wanted to transfer my twin 12" Subs from my previous car but didn't like the way the box looked in the boot. I like the back seats and wanting to keep them brand new i didn't wanna use all my boot space which a normal big twin box uses up.

So I thought about it and thought about it then decided ill build my own and I have now completed it. Only took a couple weeks as did it in my spare time.

Here is the final product and ill put up the step by step after it.

I've fitted a sheet of 6mm Perspex over the box to allow for use of the boot for 1 suitcase. Not much but better than what it could have been with the normal box. The perspex is floating above the subs with holes drilled fro airflow and venting for the amp. The amp is also floating in its Centre hole on spaces to allow for flow of air to keep it cool. Any questions just ask.

Thanks. Cost about £50 if i had already had the saw and glue but think in total i paid about £80 quid for the wood, glue, nails, screws, carpet and tools. I got the perspex for free so not sure what that runs at. the box isn't fully carpetted as could only get enought carpet off ebay for the top sides and front.

yeah the centre mdf is the only part i still have to finish and dont know what 2 use. i have paint and a bit spare carpet but also thought of using a bit of aluminium.

Xplop subs are horrible, they got the most tinny empty bass i have ever heard. Boot build would be good if you had some good stuff in the boot and if the boxes are built to the correct spec :)

plus in a box that tiny, that doesnt look properly sealed your subs are just gonna be pushing one another!

actually the bass sounds great and each side has the correct amount of space for the sub and are fully sealed. not got a walk throught yet but ill take measurments cause think i through the 1's i had out. i have red neons already under the amp but cant connect them yet or they will be permy live. im an engineer so i wasn't going to make the box half assed. that was to the last 2 people.

I only asked if they were built to the right spec never said they werent :)

And what are you comparing them against? If you havent heard alot to compare them against then they wont seem bad.

hello mate i have done somthing similar to your boot build but only the one side but i am not getting very good bass as its not sealed very well

have you got anyideas on how i could seal it a little better so i can get the bass back as it just sounds like the sub is farting but its not ripped or nothing because if i put it back in the box then it works fine.

thanks

Any chance of a guide or similar design plans for a setup like this? i got a twin 12" that i want to either split into 2 wedge boxes or make into a sweet set up like this!
