Hiya folks.

Today was supposed to be a beautiful day.

Finally got my 16" coupe turbo wheels back from the refurber to put on my bravo, washed, waxed and treated the tires! Putting the first wheel on, all four nuts in by hand, tightened a little with the wheel spider, dropped her down to tighten up with the brace and BANG! Two cross threaded wheel nuts! THANKYOU PLEASE!

Any tidy suggestions any one could recommend, that aren't gonna beat the hell out of my newly refurbed alloy??

Thanks

Are the bolts too short?
I've had a ****ty garage impact a crossthreaded bolt in. I took the wheel off and ran a tap through the hub.
Haven't had any problems with it and I tighten the bolts with torque wrench.

I still do not get how you could crossthread it just by tightening.

hi if you put nuts on by hand are you sure they are cross threaded or did you tighten them too much and striped the thread on the bolt or nut

Neverth you were spot on!
School boy error, putting coupe wheels on a bravo and not thinkng the bolts would be different.
Turns out they were 25mm out and only just biting in the hub!
Could have been disastrous.
Got some new bolts on order and will re-tap the damaged hub tonight.
Thanks and all the best.
