Something a little bit more special than the Antarctica.
THE MONSTER CROSS

I believe that the Antarctica got made to the fill the sales gap
as fiat worked on euro6 and production had stopped(slowed).
I think there was 500 made for each European market that sells the 4x4.

Limited editions (unique models) should hold a reasonable value too that was another thing that was in it's favour so a LE Cross would be great.... I wonder, have they ever offered a LE Cross in the past??

The Monster Cross was a very limited and a very special edition of the Cross.
It was in partnership with Ducati & named after a Ducati bike.
695 made world wide. Did any get made RHD and get sold to a UK market?
It says it was only available as a special order and was never seen in any showrooms.
I was amazed when I found the info below:
Quote Those who buy the exclusive Panda Monster will receive an invitation (for 2 people) to “Mad for Motors” which will take place from the 9th to 11th June at the Santa Monica circuit in Misano Adriatico. What’s more Panda Monster owners will have the opportunity to go to the Fiat Style Centre in Turin to meet the designers who created this unique vehicle.

I've ordered the winter pack too, I was under the impression it was a Ford style full heated window but now Squodrone has mentioned that I am not so sure

Just rang the dealer, I am now code 20, it's alive!

Have you checked your status over the weekend?
You were 20 last Sunday,
35 on Wednesday,
You must be 40+ by now.
I'm gonna use ur status movement to judge my cars build & progress.
I ordered 9 days after you so I am expecting status 20 by Tuesday.
All I got back today was " still at 16"
Have the robots drop my one in mid air?
Or they can't stop laughing coz someone actually ordered a red one!
Get a wriggle on, please, and put extra think lacquer on my red paint, TA.

Been away all weekend, nice to come back to those pics of the Cross, think I might call him/her Cowpat or maybe Meadow Muffin?

My contact at the dealer is now on holiday for a couple of weeks so things could have moved on quite a bit by the time he is back.

At least its a fresh cowpat, not a crusty old flakey one. Seems like my red cross is doomed. Firstly its gonna go pink, then its gonna go flakey. And the only way to stop this is not to drive it and hide it in a garage away from the sun.
Its gonna be driven and be pink one day.
Your cross is more like a posh wellie, its up to u if your left or right.

I think it's all down to the paint processing, the lacquer coating at Pomigliano De Arco may be vastly different in execution to that for the Brera/159 up North. You could always get vulnerable areas chip guarded - especially if it's a keeper.

The Brera / 159 / Spider haven't been made since 2011.

The Brera & Spider were built by Pininfarina at San Giovese.

The MiTo & Giulietta both still built & painted at PdA in 289/a and both still chip.

FIAT now play hardball & say normal wear & tear too.

It won't fade at all & on the Cross, much of the sills, arches & front end is protected but if I'd stuck with it, I'd have it clear wrapped:)

Isn't the Giulietta and MiTo built at Casino? thought PdA was just Panda now?

I am probably out of date, Macaroni keeps chopping and changing on a seemingly daily basis.

I could well be out of date for the same reason but the paint is the same.

I'm gutted as love Red but Green was my wife's favourite.

Love red too, strangely out of 14 Alfas the only one that was red was the GTA. It was red or ...red (one of the Malaysian cars). That wasn't so bad on paint chipping, think that was 501 though - could be wrong there though.

Not had a green car since a Punto GT Turbo, which was very green indeed, almost irridescent. The Furby vRS I am currently running is red with black roof and alloys and for a fugly looking car it looks quite good.

Geek mode engaged, 501 was on the old cars, last used on the S3 Spider & 75.

130 replaced it. Tough but could fade if not really cared for but was clear coated so T Cut has no effect.

289/A replaced 130 & became chargeable, a first for Alfa Red.

Totally fade resistant but prone to chipping.

My 09 Brera was repainted under warranty. My 06 Brera is better.

Chipex do a good kit. Have loads to tackle on mine just now :(

I would think it was 130 then, I seem to remember some of the GTA boys ending up with pink cars.

Just remembered I had a 105 series 1750 Gt Mk2 which would have been 501. Didn't keep it long though as I found a 1750 Spider in cream which soon became Ferrari Blue Chiaro. Those were the days.

Although my "contact" is on his hols I have just had an update....

The angry Panda has landed.

Now code 40:eek:

Thats amazing news! It could be registered today as it can be the moment it lands on UK soil. What dealership did u buy from? Sounds like a top notch service your getting.
thanks for the updates. Nothing my end yet.

From what I can gather if a car with the spec you have ordered is on the line and not destined for a customer it gets assigned to you hence some orders seem to jump the queue!
At least that's what I think the dealer said - don't take it as gospel.

BTW still waiting for my dealer to even acknowledge I've placed an order for a new car!

oh gosh... a lot of work for me lol wish i wasnt going away on tues [for 2 wks] as i really am keen to sort this

parking sensors....theres a wall rather close to my drive, last thing i want is backing into that

ive never had air con before so not sure the extra for climate control is needed, unless someone can convince me otherwise.

front seat table looks a great little novelty but isnt that what it is a novelty or does it have use?

AND why is a leather steering wheel useful?

sorry for all these questions, but i have never purchased a brand new car before so im 1. bit nervous bout it and 2. really want make sure i get exactly what i want and dont just pay for options i dont need or miss options i should have got
I ordered my new Cross a couple of weeks ago ( in bright yellow!!!). I've gone for the front seat table, not so much for the "table-y bit, more for the fact that the seat folds right down flat - it will make carrying longer things much easier. I have a Cross right now, and have always been disappointed that the seat doesn't fold flat or crank back enough, so I'm looking forward to the new, improved version!

Who's car has jumped the queue? Bogwoppits green cross has arrived in the UK coz he was fast/first off the blocks. He has a long(ish) list of options, this cross isnt made unless ordered. Hopefully my cross is 9 days behind his.
To grab an unordered one from the queue I think it wouldnt have much on it that I consider basic essentials like the winter pack.
Maybe its a good thing that the cross has less options to pick from as it has many of the options that I would have picked to go on a trekking/4x4 as standard. Less variants for fiat to make.
I think a dealer can only search the stock of unregistered crosses already in the uk. If ur match is there, its urs. If there is one or two with nearly every option u want except 1, they might try and say, sorry sir, that option isn't available (lie) but I can get you a car next week with everything else but that option. I'd rather wait my time to get the car I want than a car a dealer wants to sell to you before the quarter end.
I really don't think a dealer here can see a list of what cars fiat are producing over the next week or so, and it containing option and colour details. It would be good if they did, you could hand pick a car being made next Monday coz it ticks all of your essential boxes.
When your motor hit status 16 ur stuck with everything. You have no chance to change the colour after you find out the red paint is very poor and should be avoided.

The Red Giant Panda Cross is Born.
Thanks to all the fiat workers in Naples and the robots involved in building my new Fiat.
Get it on the truck to Scotland asap, if you dont mind. Tell the transporter driver not to drive behind any road gritters coz my red paint might chip.
Counting the days...
