Creaky Steering

Any one have any idea what this could be? The handling feels no different but there is a definate creaking when steering.

Did you ever figure out what was causing this? I have got a similar problem. Sounds like its coming from behind the steering wheel and only really noticable at slow speeds. The fluid is topped up, but is nearly black. Any ideas?

Don't know if it's the same issue but mine creaks, mainly when at a standstill.

I think mine is dried out rubber bits/metal on top of the springs under the bonnet
(the plastic cover on the top of the suspension units.)

I found one day I greased these up and it went away for a day, and it doesn't seem so bad in wet weather.
