Does anyone know how much this should cost at a non-franchised dealer and is it straight forward job for a VAT garage to follow??? The dealer want £600 pounds to fit a £30 part???

Thanks

hi there i had mine done at a local garage and only charged me £160.00

had a similar repair done and cost me about 600 pound and the part was about 30 pound,i had it done because my wife mutipla kept cutting out at traffic lights and felt i had to get it done quickly and no other garage could fit me in,i learnt after that i was completely ripped off ,this repair should cost more like 300 pound at the most and is quite straight forward .just shop around mate and good luck

People make sure its the rpm & not phase sensor your talking about.

Crank sensor will probably involve hour diag & half hour fit.

Phase (cam) sensor involves timing belt off etc & is advisable to renew timing belt etc at this point....all this & the long hours of labour involved will be around £5-600.

Thanks for the advice, managed to get the job done for £150 at Fiat, it was the crank sensor, next on the list stiff clutch!!!
