Hi all I have a crackling/sparkler sound from my speedo area when sat with engine on after a drive what could it be ?
Yes mate from that area it's so annoying but all works fine :/I have similar but its a dull crackley noise - like something in the power steering (electronic type) is doing something... unsure, all the instruments and power steering and city mode work fine so unsure... would be nice to know tho.
Mine does the exact same mate sounds electrical and mine does it after I've turned it off after a min sameI have similar but its a dull crackley noise - like something in the power steering (electronic type) is doing something... unsure, all the instruments and power steering and city mode work fine so unsure... would be nice to know tho.
Edit: Mine also does this when i've turned off the engine, only for a minute or so and also does when the ignition is on but not started. Strange

Its weird, i think its something to do with the power steering, the power steering is not hydraulic and does not have a pump & resovior, from what i remember it's electronically assisted power steering (PAS) and from knowledge of previous cars there is usually a motor behind the steering wheel that assists to take the weight of the steering wheel (makes steering feel much lighter).
Anyone confirm this?
I've found out today my dials are Grinding and that's what is making the sound, as my idle dial moves a little on idle it's making that noise and when I turn car of all te dials fall to 0 and makes the same noise then also when starting car as dials go up it makes this noiseIts weird, i think its something to do with the power steering, the power steering is not hydraulic and does not have a pump & resovior, from what i remember it's electronically assisted power steering (PAS) and from knowledge of previous cars there is usually a motor behind the steering wheel that assists to take the weight of the steering wheel (makes steering feel much lighter).

It will be the stepper motors that drive the needles. Each of the 4 needles has its own motor.
