Well, its probably the original so I'll let it off for failing.

Problem is I can't get a simple replacement as it was 'adapted' to fit the new cat and lambda sensor when I went stainless.

Damn.

Guess I need a stainless flex section making to join between the cat and manifold, and to take a lambda fitting.

Well exhaust is fixed.

Nowhere seems to be able to get hold of the square 4 bolt flanges on the manifold. How have others got around this? In the end they re-used the square flange from the original pipe, cleaned it up and welded on the stainless flexible.

Not the most elegant of exhaust joinery but it's functional.

Surely any good machine shop (maybe even a few crap ones haha!) could knock up a suitable flange from the appropriate thickness stainless plate in about ten mins? I'm not sure of of names but there are companies out there who sell ready made or cut to spec stainless flanges, mainly the ones that mount to the head though, for home build custom mani' construction... perhaps one of those outfits could help?

Woops! didnt notice the date of the original post, bit late tbf.

How loud is too loud? I like to hear the exhaust note above the wind noise haha (just knocked up a cat back straight thru on my 1.4ie to replace crumbled boxes & thats just about right imo, got a nice italian sounding rasp to the note but no main battle tank decibels)
