Finally got my 16vt 16' alloys on  after replacing the 2 buckled wheels with 2 from Motormech (MANY THANKS Paul & Co (y) ). Also mentioned whilst I was there last Saturday that he is gaining customers with Stilos and has the gear to sort Stilo computer glitches

So you're the git who didn't call off buying the wheels? :D

If you've got a 16v Tipo and your not on 2 wheels me thinks your not tryin' hard enough :D Not my fault the 4 off e-blag came with 1 badly and 1 very slightly buckled wheel :bang: On my travels last week did come across a Coupe with later style 16's on at Alfa City in Brum (0121 551 1273 / 07870156648) and they apparently were due to get another Coupe in... happy hunting ;)

:woot:

Got 4 coupe 20vt wheels! Thanks to Charlieboy for meeting half way with them. Nice to meet ya! Look forward to pics of your Punto once it's settled.

Wheels are in good condition however they've got a little kurbing so I'm going to have them refurbished in the same way I did the Tipo's wheels. Also the tyres although still have tread, they look cracked and aged (been sat for a while?) so going to replace them. 205/45R16 or 215/40R16 I'm thinking to keep close to original wheel size, or maybe go a bit larger to raise the gearing. There is plenty of power to push the wheels around, but at 70mph the rev's would be nicer if they were lower.

I was thinking maybe these...

A539.jpg

Yokahama A539 215/40 R16 86V RF , RPB asymmetric - £52 per corner = £208
Wheels refurbed in powder coat anthracite and tyres fitted = £160
Bilstein shocks and ventura springs = Free since I've already got them.
Tipo running on sexy 16s... Priceless :D

Someone needs to check their maths :p

I have no idea what is a good price for tyres that fit the original rims, I've always had aftermarket alloys on my car since I bought it. The guys on the coupe forum use mainly Goodyear eagle F1's, but myself and many others use Toyo Proxes T1S/R.

no worries for coming to sheffield, got to walk round shopping centre with mum for a good couple hours.
they gonna be refurbed silver or a darker colour?
the wheels were in the guys garage for 6months or so (his coop met a telegraph pole at speed. poor thing)

punto is about settled now i think

Dunno. I'm thinking anthracite as I've seen a pic of a white tipo with anthracite 20vt wheels and it looked the dog'd danglies. Also thinking just in silver as to not affect their resale value - although maybe the cost would be higher in athracite with good tyres?

Nice, but mine will be on the Piniforini (sp?) 16" rims. I've tried it and they fit even with 50 profile 205s on. Pics to follow!
Pininfarina. :)
The 205/50R16 is the standard Coupe tyre size, though some later models came with 225/45R16.
Toyo Proxes T1-R and Goodyear Eagle F1 are the preferred Coupe tyres in those sizes.

539 are fine, but just changed them off my golf - bloody wheels I had were wrong offset and the inner edge was bald. For wets on the track i'll get another set. Jefferies tyres in bromsgrove did these at a good price, but not sure of your location as I type this.
