Hi

Confused dot com.

I recently bought a 1989 Fiat Ducato 2.5D motorhome, and it had an oil change before I bought it. At the time it was leaking from the sump, and the sump gasket was replaced, now it's leaking from the oil cooler housing seal, which it wasn't before. Also there seems to be oil getting onto the serpentine belt causing mayhem. I posted this on another forum for Fiat Motorhome owners and was told under no uncertain terms that the oil used in the oil change (10W40 Synthetic) was too thin, causing the seal to leak. They also said I should used 20W50 Mineral Oil.
Halford's compatibility chart says this is the incorrect oil for my vehicle, and indeed the manual says 10W40, but classic vehicle owners are swearing by the 20W50 mineral oil?

Any recommendations? TIA.
