Was wondering if anyone can help me with a plain english fix. I'm a girl who doesn't get heavy car jargon.

So my trusty punto has suddenly decided that intermittently it won't turn the passenger cornering light off.

I've tried all sorts. Switching the engine off doesn't help and disabling the cornering lights via the computer worked initially but now even though it says they are off the passenger one is always on.

No other issues with any of the other lights and if the cornering lights are enabled the drivers side comes on when it's meant to but the passenger one always gets stuck on.

I've seen some posts about relays and fuses but I'm not too sure which one I am looking for and seen some contradictory info that the cornering lights run on the same relays as the fog lamps.

If someone could point me in the right direction be much appreciated or even a short fix until I can get to the garage at the end of the montj

Hi :)

Not a job Ive done yet.. only needed the 1 DRL bulb on my 2012

The power is probably controlled by boards near the left tail light

Im wondering if youve got a wiring fault in the front bumper though.. making it stay illuminated

Pulling the fuse would be the simplest..

I will attempt to link to more info :)

Thank you, so do you reckon pulling f30 for the fog lamps may help

Try it.. :)

The fact you can 'switch them off'in the menu.

BUT the left one still gets power makes me think youve got a bad connection - lost earth somewhere

Andy Monty wrote the Grande electrical GUIDES.. so may have an idea where to look

There were some VERY high spec Grandes in the early days

Hi Sar2them

There is a large relay separate from everything else somewhere behinds the passenger side headlight, in front of the battery. I’ve attached a picture so you can have a rough idea what you’re looking for.

These are “skirted” relays that are supposed to be waterproof, when mounted up the right way the skirt around the bottom should stop water getting in, but if they’re ever removed and not put back and end up hanging upside down then the skirt acts as a handy little beaker collecting and filling the relay up with water. (What you’re looking for should be black)

Once you find the relay you can remove it, which will stop the light being on permanently, then you can look at getting a replacement I recommend eBay and search for what ever part number is on the relay.

I’m also quite lucky where I live in Norfolk we have a wholesalers who specialise in car electronics, if you have something like that near you they may be able to recommend an alternative replacement.

Fiat did a bit of a hack job on the Evo cornering lights, just threw in a couple of totally inappropriate relays to add the functionality but I’m not even sure they’re protected by any sort of fuse, as I was never able to find the fuse that went to the lights themselves, only the fuse on the switching side of the relay. To give you some idea of how much of a hack this was the relay is actually from the radiator fan of an Leyland daf van

Hopefully that’s not too technical for you, find the black relay, remove it. Then try and find a replacement.
