Hi, I am new and stuck already! fitted a new core plug the one just to the right of the water pump and it has popped out? got new one and need to know about any sealant that would work thanks and sorry but really stuck!!!!
 
also try 'grey' Permatex as a substitute, this is available from ebay or motorbike shops

Thanks! the grey stuff does that set hard, what i mean is will it hold under pressure? Thanks for the info!!!!
 
Have you got the correct core plug?

If it's a shallow dish type it needs hammering in it's center to expand the dish once it's fitted in the core.

If it's the cup type, it should be a tight interferance fit.

Whichever type it is, it shoudn't be able to pop out if fitted correctly. If it's the wrong core plug or not fitted correctly, then no type of sealer will hold it in.
 
It's like a paint tin lid (50mm), I fitted one last week but hit a massive bump and it came out, fitted the new one now will let you know how I get on, Thanks for all the advice I am very greatfull!!!
