Hi could anyon out ther tell me if there is a relay to control the engine cooling fan on my Fiat Ducato 2.5d as the cooling fan is running continuously & it is't the thermo switch Thanks

Hi Phil

I have a Ducato 51 plate 2.8 non turbo, if it is the same as mine I can help.

The radiator has two fans, the temperature controller set low on the passenger side of the radiator is a two step switch, the first fan is the passenger side one (I had a problem with this running all the time) on the rear of the radiator in the centre is a black box held on with three small (6 MM?) self tapping bolts, inside this are two standard relays (nothing special so dont buy Fiat ones) I found the one that had gone U/S was brown and burnt.

My overheating was caused by the main radiator being U/S it had lost most of its fins and what it had not lost was corroded and airtight, if your Ducato runs hot it will keep bringinmg the first fan on, resulting in the relay burning out.

Regards
MYTHING (Paul)
