i dont have a phone. no need for one. but the mrs has a desire. i love it to peices used it for a few months before dumping a phone.

they work great and the screen is by far good enough. cameras good ans support is good. all in all i think it really is the best phone ive ever used/had.

ONE WARNING be carefull with the charging procedure..... the plug in the phone is fragile and after a few months you have to do the old motorola wiggle to get it working and prop it up ect. we had a replacement free due to this and its started doing it again BUT my mrs charges it on the floor and my dog lies on it so bends it but htc have said it is a weakness and to be carefull not to snag it when charging :)

just updated the desire last night to the latest release of android and its still going strong, smooth and quick enough. got some great features.... realisticly you will have it on charge every night as over time you will start to use it for facebook, email, texts, calls, camera gps(goolge gps is free on it and VERY good worth its weight in sticky situs) wifi ect so it gets sapped.

Sounds an awful lot like my old Nokia...still, if its under 12months old it'd have to be covered by manufacturers warranty/sales of goods act etc.

Not got my Desire yet, but given the time of year I expected delays. Can't wait for it, but have to say I'm still content with my iPhone even if it is getting slow with the non-3G-friendly firmware updates they keep throwing at it. Shall be a worthy back up phone for a while yet, though I have seen similar condition versions of my iPhone go for £120-150 odd on eBay these past weeks still, so it's an option

a android..... basicly a more open source iphone.... realisticly its aiming to be one. but i prefere it its just more user based as its open source code means alot of users create the apps and stuff so its much easier to get the hang of.

if u like a iphone id say u will like the android.

and yes they cover it under the 12month hense me getting a new one for free :)

Are deliveries on tomorrow though? I have parcels waiting to be delivered but was told Wednesday ;(

Sorry if I am the bearer of bad news lol

Epic...

I phoned o2 today to tell them Im switching to vodafone, all of a sudden they can not only match the price vodafone have offered but they can beat it.. Prices 'change' daily, says the advisor. Epic bullshit from the retentions team methinks.

Even though I'd get a slightly lesser package than Im going for (o2 offered £25 for 500 mins/unlimited texts/500mb data) I'm not cancelling my vodafone contract. Asked the o2 crowd last week for their best deal. The guy I spoke to was adament they couldn't go lower than £35 a month on a decent smart phone pacakge, so **** em. I know it's a sales technique at the end of the day, which is why I was quite specific from the off that they just offer their best deal and at least match what I've ultimately gone for. It's one way to lose a customer, that's for sure!

how'd you manage that on the phone Steve? Ad looked back an only use about 100mb if that an ah would say am on pretty regular

havent got a clue. mrs uses it all the time, one of the biggest users is the sat nav. as it downloads the route. the map and continually updates as you go along. i was shocked haha but its on the bill :S

Barely break the 100mb mark myself, though don't often use satnav exactly, unless you count sporadic use of Google Maps

I have been tempted to swap out of o2, but I'm fairly happy with most of their service. It's an 18 month contract I'm on again anyway, so better than the 24 I thought I was going to have to opt for to get a free handset.
