Guys

ITs on a 51 plate in red for £2250 with 15,800 miles from a trader. Do you think this is good value or too expensive? Parkers has it valued at £1450 but with 70,000 miles. Obviously with just under 16k on it, it is better but £800 better?

I have not been to look at it yet but just wanted to bounce it off you guys first. (y)

I want a really mint standard condition one and it certainly looks mint.

It's worth £1800. Traders ask more to start as poeple may be p/x ing some nail the have to get rid of or sort out finance. If you have cash, then offer £1800.
I paid £2100 cash on a 2001 plate well over 2 years ago from a dealer.

The parker guide is for insurance companies to jew us out of what the car might be worth . Prices change in a buyers market, so the value of economical cars may be on the increase because of fuel prices??

Cheers CC1, I really appreciate this info. I am going to look at it tomorrow if all goes well (if not then Friday) so I will go armed with an offer of £1800 cash if the car is mint condition. (y)

Can we cut the racist crap, please?

Try offering him 1500 cash, see how you go, 2250 is too much. Do get a test drive and check for signs of overheating -- at least, make sure the fan comes on. Look for rust at the rear seat belt mounts and where the rear wheelarch meets the boot floor.

£1500 , I am tempted, it all depends on how good the car is. If its mint I am happy to pay up but if its not excellent then I will just walk away with no offer made. I will check these bits and pieces as you say as well and making sure it runs well and the clutch/gearbox is good.

My last Cinq died of a broken gearbox and I really miss it.

I am amazed regarding rust on the rear seatbelt mounts, I though that was a problem overcome with Fiat. I will check though.

Cheers.

i would want a FSH and all the old MOTS despite only 16k on the clock. All the belts and ancillaries etc should still have been done at one point

Well I got one but not the first one I went too see. I have added a new thread in members motors section. Cheers Fingers and anyone else who gave info.

I got a Sei Scumacher in yellow with 39k on it. :slayer:
