Hi there

Have a fiat punto with the daichi entertainment system. The actual unit works fine but the screen has stopped working so I can’t connect my phone via Bluetooth. Tried connecting via aux but it wouldn’t work. Tried buying a usb Bluetooth adapter to plug into the usb port but that didn’t work either. Is it possible that I need a specific brand of usb receiver or does it just not work that way? Has anyone replaced the screen or the whole unit itself? The only other thing I can think of is buying a fm transmitter to transmit music etc from the phone to the radio.

can anyone help?
Thanks

Hello,

I'm afraid that without the screen you can only buy a bluetooth / FM transmitter.

Have you checked why the screen is not working? Is it physically damaged? Perhaps a connection is loose in the inside? Have you tried to disconnect and reconnect the radio physically (like take it out) for some time? perhaps it just needs a hard reset :D

Thanks for the reply. I bought a Bluetooth receiver but I can’t get it to work. The screen is my fault I cleaned it, sprayed the cleaner on and it messed the screen up. Was trying to do something good!

You’re not the first person to have done this.

Unfortunately they seem to be very poorly made, you could look at sending it to an electronics repair place to see if they can clean it up and get the screen working.

You could clean the screen a few more times but with 99% isopropyl alcohol as this might clean out the contacts which are preventing the screen from working, or you could look to replace it.

These radios were only available for a short time before the Punto was discontinued so it might be better to consider something aftermarket instead

Ps is 70 per cent isopropyl ok or does it need to be 99? Many thanks for your reply

Well, the alcohol didn’t work. So now I’m caught in two minds: replacing the actual unit or replacing the screen. No idea if this is easily done. Have seen screens available online but not sure if it’s possible to easily open up the unit to install one.https://www.ebay.at/itm/396777956304?_skw=daiichi+screen&itmmeta=01K63ZK871RXRS6VQBN05T245B&hash=item5c61cf23d0:g:D9EAAOSwfoxoWQ6o&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA8FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1cuOC8hgC%2FSEujtJyuMUs1PzLs0Bppg2fPh9PzMuPf4oBilNaHSg1PrgCzkkB55Fuh5XCyMbv%2FzunbGMibILN3u9LhNphcavtrig%2BSmjYxI5OBnoEkgHOCDQDhLiYBvx39ZKukkHQKa6xhi2jStniDNU%2Bb1Y2sHag2Toqu2OeoDvpcHEtEF2RvBrPH1msvg67AmyquOp7K9%2BUroK0oIEQoufPRFPwh76SpNWQWEmC2t4N8Ua6qUVCGb8S5fQl1pdC5lWHIc4k5LTFOKU1Kf0VGmrKmAdmocD3iMaMxM%2FX65YA%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR86Dzf-wZg
