Hi, I'm after a wiring diagram for a Connect Nav unit to help with a problem I'm having!

I'm having difficulty with my Abarth Connect Nav+ unit. I have recently installed a rather funky reversing camera which needed a switch positive feed to power it up, only when the car was on. I used a multimeter to track down a switched feed off the back of the stereo. The one I picked was the blue wire next to the red constant positive wire. Well the TFT powers up and down off of this wire just fine, but now the HU doesn't power down at all. Stays on constantly no matter what I do to the key. This morning, the car battery was flat as a pancake, the car was running fine last night, so the battery went from fine to flat in about 8 hours. The battery was new 3 months ago. The setup for the reversing camera is as follows.

The TFT screen takes a feed from the blue wire off the back of the HU and a ground from the black wire off the back of the HU. It also takes a switching feed from the reversing light. The camera takes a power feed from the reversing light feed and grounds to the black wire in the rear cluster.

The camera only turns on when I engage reverse, and the screen only powers up when the ignition is on.

Any ideas where my sudden massive power drain could be. The battery is a 70Ah model, it read 8.4volts this morning! Proper flat!

I have unplugged the stereo, disconnected the wiring to the TFT screen, but left the wiring to the reversing light.

Would changing ground to the car body from the existing wires help at all?

I dont know about the wiring diagram. I do know that if you connect one of those ipod connectors through the blue mini jack it turns the amps on constant until you disconnect the pod.

So i would try taking your switched feed from the ignition of cigar lighter. Its been a long day so perhaps i may be able to give you a more definitive answer after reading again tomo. But who needs to know exactly the problem if you have the final conclusion lol.

Installed the unit earlier on, with the bare minimum (i.e. the cage, antenna, speakers and iso). I had the microphone supplied with the unit and plugged that into the roof where it should go and also connected it to a 2 wired pin that was already there, now time to ask for a little help :p.

Where is wiring loom for connecting the Connect Nav to the ECU, is it somewhere behind the dash or does it need to be ordered? Its just the wiring for the alarm sensors and the wiring for the microphone are already there just wondering where it ends? :).

So far no wiring adaptations have been made to the standard stereo wiring loom. Thanks!

I read somewhere on this forum that by connecting a second power source the trip display will work, along with me being able to save the settings (i.e. the date and time - at the moment I am unable to do this).

Is this correct and where to I plug the extra power? (i get the second power from a fused connection from the cigerette lighter)

Thanks

Is the permanent 12v the one I get from the lighter? If so, my lighters power supply is turned off when I turn the car key to off (when using mobile charger/sat nav, etc). Or is the lighter the one that gets connected to pin 4?

I had the factory radio in previously, so far with the installation of the CN+ I have only changed the cages and placed the CN+ into the dash using the existing ISO connectors, on Thursday Ill be fitting a GPS antenna ([ame="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GPS-Antenna-Aerial-5M-GT5-MERCEDES-APLINE-PIONEER-/250658951378?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_GPSSystems_G"]GPS Antenna Aerial 5M GT5 MERCEDES / APLINE / PIONEER on eBay (end time 25-Feb-11 11:28:55 GMT)[/ame] PSSystems&hash=item3a5c7010d2). I only really want the microphone to work with the phone (im not installing the phone antenna).

I have a 1.6 Dynamic the CN+ does not currently display the trip information or allow me to save will this be sorted when the power lines are sorted?

Does the CN+ use the same can lines as the factory radio?

Thanks, sorry to be a pain :).

The permanent and ignition switched 12v +ve supplies should already be in the power supply connector that goes to your original radio.

According to the wiring diagram for the original radio, it should be a Red/Black (Red with Black stripe) wire for the permanent supply and a Blue wire for the ignition switched supply. They are shown as being on the same pin numbers (7 and 4) as the CN+ plug. The connector for your original radio should fit into the CN+ and provide both power supplies.

If you don't install the GSM aerial, then the phone in the CN+ won't work so there would be no point installing the microphone, unless you only want it for voice controls.

Trip info will only be displayed with the 12v ignition switch supply connected and the ignition switched on.

CAN lines are on the same connector as the original radio. Pin 1 = White/Pink. Pin 3 = Black/Pink.

I'll check the wires tomorrow, as I say, nothing on the power connector has been changed yet the unit wont save the date or allow you to change system settings, it also will not let me view trip information. :-(.

Okay about to go out and do that now, any idea where the microphone wire is?

Behind the interior front light there were two wires, one that seemed to be the right connection for the microphone, where does this wire end? :).

It goes to the all white connector (D20) near the dashboard fuse box and body computer. The left one in this diagram.

It's probably a small coax cable that splits it's screen and core at the connector. You will need to use similar cable to extend it to the back of your CN+ to avoid inteference.

Thanks for that! seem to be getting somewhere :p. Added the ignition feed, now its asking for the master code (which it doesn't do without the ignition feed connected), contacted the seller and he's getting the VIN and chassis number of the original vehicle so I can get the master code from fiat.

Fiat dealers can get the code from ISR (International Security Register) but they need the registration number of the car the CN+ was originally fitted in. They may be able to get the registration number from the VIN.

Called the local dealer to ask what they wanted from me in order to give me the master code, being a little security conscious they asked the registration number, VIN and chasis number.

I called the dealer towards the end of the working day, on their automated system I chose parts first, the guy I talked to didn't know what I was on about so transferred me to 'someone from fiat', im guessing they put me through to sales as the next person I talked to 'ohh you'll have to ask parts about this but they are now closed until tomorrow', i explained that I had just been talking to them, they put me on hold come back to me with another person who said they wanted the above. So I think it was probably a slur of the words as they were more interested in finishing for the day.

Im waiting for the VIN and registration from the seller of the unit now, but am no in no rush as the clutch decided to go on me this weekend so time to get that sorted.

Can someone help me wiring the microphone and the steering wheel commands?

1. Can i connect the microphone directly to pins 9 and 18 of D connector? Or there is anything else i should do?

2. Are differrences between clockspring for radio wheel cmds and connect nav wheel cmds?
I bought one of these, but no clockspring for the moment. And i also want to wire it up after i'll buy the clock spring...i hope that this can be done though..
