Exhaust is throwing a strong smell when idling,
Not an egg smell.
A strong fuel smell.
Also when I put my foot down I see a trail of dust/smoke behind me.
MPG is ridiculous.

I'm guessing petrol.

Symptoms suggest excess fuel going in.
Normally oxygen sensors in the exhaust would try to reduce the fuelling leading to poor runing and misfiring, but you've not reported that.

There have been reports of injectors not sealing. So the fuel dribbles constantly, leading to overfuelling, and excess fuel passing through the exhaust. Might 'fix' with a good dose of injector cleaner.

Ideally needs a diagnostic readout, see what the oxygen readings are doing, and possible fuel pressure and usage. I doubt you've got MultiECUscan software, so update your location, someone nearby may offer to plug in and see what can be read.

Hey buddy! Thanks for the information,

Don't just run amok replacing things without first diagnosing.

Ideally it needs the diagnostic program attaching. Search for threads about MES or MultiECUscan for more info. As I said earlier, update your profile so we know where you are, someone nearby may be able to assist.

There are two lambda sensors, usually both the same. If they will come out easily, swapping them over may be a useful test.

A spark missfire will cause the engine to run rich. It might not feel like much but the unused oxygen is seen by the control system as a weak air/fuel mixture so it adds more fuel. That causes a viscious cycle of sooty spark plugs and O2 sensors more missfire and ever more fuel consumption.

Steam in cold weather is normal 1 litre of petrol makes 1 litre of water plus CO2.

Excess fuel stinks of part burnt petrol and might be smoky. White smoke is oil burning so you'll need to do some compression tests.
Excessive steam could be coolant (usually a failed head gasket). Ethylene glycol coolant will kill the O2 sensors leading to running problems when its rebuilt.
