General Configure an Abarth?

General Configure an Abarth?

You know, I'm really pissed with this forum right now because in the last two days I have started two new threads on the Abarth which have both mysteriously disappeared. They were good threads too not rule-breakers.

If this thread stays up then I'll try and recall what I wrote before...
What were you trying to say?

Just positive stuff about how my test drive of an EsseEsse went and just how much I want one etc.. In fact I'm negotiating the purchase of one right now.

One thing I'd like to know is if there is anyone who feels the standard Abarth is a bad choice compared to the full EsseEsse kit.

I was truly astonished with the performance of the EsseEsse but I wonder if that ride would get tiring and are there significant performance differences between standard and EsseEsse?

Well this is 3rd hand but from what I've heard the Esseese ride is no worse as it uses progressive springs. Most people seem to agree that the standard car isn't lacking anything. I'd order the car standard and if need be then put the kit on afterwards as is your option :)

I have heard (in some motoring magazine) that they think the standard Abarth is a better all round car / value for money than the SS (but the GP is the other way round)...

Not driven either myself though.

I am really tempted to buy an Abarth right now - the only thing stopping me is the hit I would take price-wise on my car after only 4k miles. I can afford to get the Abarth (which is why it is temtping) but it's the principal of throwing away the money so soon against mine. Would have got one if they were available when I ordered mine, but they weren't.

Although, once I start thinking I usually end up buying :yum:

Doesn't help that the wife likes them too - at least we disagree on colour. She wants black, I want grey.

I am also drawn towards the GP Abarth....

Oh - stop talking about it!

Yeah, I was offered peanuts for mine 500 but then I found out that used 500s are like rocking horse **** and the head of sales said he would give me a good price. So, we shall see as I'm going to see him tomorrow.
Oh and I want the Abarth in black.
However, a poor offer on mine will break the deal immediately. I'm not going to be anyone's sucker.

I test drove the SS and bought the 'Normal Production' model. I found the SS to be a 'harsher' ride than my NP, having said that, the NP is no soft ride.

I'll probably upgrade to the SS within the 12,000 miles if the ride proves to be bearable when the novelty has worn off.
