computer start up problems

when i start up my pc, it starts as normal until it gets to the xp start up tune and as it plays this the computer starts again, second time succesfully

Symantic antivirus and AVG hasnt found anything and i cant see anything else that might be causing it.

any ideas?

hmmm.... another scan as quarantined a virus (using symantic) that is showing as c:\windows\system32\i

is this a nasty? it says its a downloader?

now its in quarintine and its running fine- symantic just doesnt know what to do with it, the forum is also working properly now as im getting the yellow box previewing thread text when holding pointer over a thread title- which had disappeared before

laughing aside, my problems have started again with the start up, goddam it.

Symantic now been scanning for hours and not found a bean.

giving that spybot program a whirl, not sure what spybots are. I never had to bother wth this stuff when i lived at home as used folks pc or my mac, and me old man looked after the pc- which is shagged out anyways

ok, got real issues now, ie7 has packed up and the pc is running too slow, looks like its gone bad, javon to post now from my mobile
