Ok I just joined the forum as I am desperate & found no info on the forum so far so here is another winger.
I have a 2008 Fiat Ducato Motorhome, 160 Multijet, 3.0 litre diesel. The old "Gear unselectable". In a Sydney Fiat Professional workshop since October and still unable to drive ?. Changed the Hydraulic Unit, Slave cylinder, Gearbox ECU, Wiring loom, all four "4" Gearbox Solenoids, Gearbox was removed & clutch is good as it was changed about 15,000KM ago. Got them a donor gearbox for parts. They say the gear box is OK but the clutch will not move and drive. Any one had a problem similar to mine and got it fixed, if so how and where. Never get a FIAT DUCATO again.

Hmm... Seems like your real BIG issue is not the actual vehicle, but the "workshop". Any place that fires a parts canon and after 6 months has not found and fixed the issue should not be in the business. There are numerous issues than can cause the fault, but a trained expert with the level of diagnostics that FIATPRO have should locate the issue pretty quickly I would think. Have you thought about getting the vehicle to another workshop? If you have the skills, perhaps get a copy of MES and see what you can find yourself. Very hard to offer any help if there is no data to look at.

@BillModza
may be worth you asking this chap regards Comfortmatic problems. @Seanwinder22

Did you find the issue ? I can see why you have gone through the parts list like this but using mes would have saved money
Always start with the sensors and brake switch change fluids
Clutch and gearbox would be my last to change

Thanks for that and I agree. I now got them to install the gearbox that I got from the wrecker and 8 month later the Motorhome is still un-drivable so it's now going to another Fiat Professional Service workshop in Sydney for a fresh look. I may not be a Fiat mechanic but it must have something to do with not getting/sending a feedback from/to one of the other ECU'S. They (FIAT workshop) must be able to figure out what that is with their factory computer. It needs someone else with a fresh look, it's an engineered motor vehicle it's not a magic box. Must keep trying as the Motorhome is still worth around the $65-70K mark. Thanks and wish me luck.

Wish you was closer mate I could have worked on it myself since I built the YouTube channel I’ve literally helped hundreds and it’s always the same work on this salespeed it’s always wiring or a sensor
So I’m getting from your post you have changed all solenoids ? Evo ev1 ev2 ev3 ?
Then you changed the 3 main sensors clutch position and gear sensor and speed sensor front of gear box ?

Under the clutch pedal you have a break switch buy a new one and fit this and check all wiring on break lights and bulbs
Check what size battery you have ? 90 ah not good enough go 110

Then change body to gearbox strap even fit a spare one it’s helps 👍 clutch fluid dot 4 change
Then change cs speed fluid and gearbox oil
All this is basically a deep service

Next buy mes off line go to fiat and ask to sit in your van and hook up to the computer and look at all parameters you can test yourself if all sensors and solenoid are working ok

Also I had a problem with clutch disk speed has if on idol you get the clutch speed over 800 you need to bleed the system more times
The clutch speed should only move from 800 while driving
It took me 4 bleeds to get this right otherwise you get no gears available

This gearbox is a brilliant gearbox but temperamental if not looked after or done properly..

I wish you look but I honestly think all this big parts moving is not the answer it’s something small and something I mentioned

Thanks but it the electronics/software issue that needs to be solved but I am $15,000 AUD down the tube and still un drivable. All I can say is that "Never purchase an European Car in AU as parts are hard to get. No one can ship from EU or UK and I can't tell why but I did get this message from a UK eBay seller "The item in question has been deemed restricted. This could be due to import/postage restrictions or eligibility requirements within the Global Shipping Program. The item won't be sent to you, nor returned to your seller". So how can I repair if I can't get European parts. We are a part of the Commonwealth and hate Trump so WTF. Love UK.

Fiat need to be taken apart at the seams for this utterly unacceptable situation. Thes auto gearboxes make the entire vehicle worthless. I would be investigating a conversion with a conventional auto box from something else. Worth the investment. WIth the Aussie bush engineering skills around you should be able to find someone who cna do this. Really sorry to hear of the issues and wish you the best for a solution. This is so so wrong.

I know someone who tried this and didn’t work
They fitted another gearbox to get rid of the comfortmatic they got it working but not all gears

I agree it’s a **** show and I feel for you mate
My opinion get the motorhome back home and spend some time working on it yourself
Watch all my videos on YouTube they will help you mate
I can put you in touch with a guy that his whole Buisness is on the salespeed he knows absolutely everything
People take out the robot and send it him by post he then changes sensors seals everything gets it working sends it back

That’s your issue here the robot has you say you changed clutch and gearbox so it’s the robot mate
