Coilover Question

What are the best coilovers for a 1.4 bravo?

are KW any use?

My car is quite low and i would like to be able to raise the ground clearence now and again....

are they that practical?

wheres the cheapest online place to find them?

No

I'm not sure how you think coilovers work but its not a quick job changing the height. A good couple of hours work at least.

And another point to remember, when the shocks wear out (and they WILL, no matter how expensive they were) it will cost an awful lot to replace them.

Cheap new shocks will ride better than worn out expensive ones.

i thought as much to be honest tom, thats why i asked...

when i bought the car it was lowered and its a very bumpy ride with a knocking on the shocks whenever i go over bumps which i would like to eliminate if possible...

i would however like to keep the car low, as impractical is it is i know!, any suggstions?

would a decent sports shock/spring set do the trick?

How low and how old is it? It could be making noises from other parts of the suspension.

its a 97..


it ws lowered when i got it, im told they are origional ones so they could well be 7 years old...

Don't bother with coilovers m8...

It takes far too much time to adjust the height...

For less money you could get 2 sets (low & lower ), wouldn't take you much longer to change them, rather than adjust them...

yeah your right... i cant see shocks lasting 7 years especially on the lowered car...

i think i have been persuaded not to go for coilovers, maybe a dicent set of shocks instead...

is there anyway of telling how much the car has been lowered?

Lowering makes no difference to shock life Driving style and road type make a difference though.

Bilstein gas shocks, £160ish a set, really good value and the ride is not too harsh.
