General code light on constant

after a recent engine change i now cant get my 2oo1 punto mia to turn over ignition lights come on ok but nothin when i try to start the code light is stayin on permanantly

Did you put the original ecu into the new engine?. Its near the throttle body I think.

i used all the original electrics inc ecu

If the Code Light is on Perminatley and wont turn over
Then the Imbolizer (sp?) is active and is prevent you from startings the engine

I'm affraid thats all i can help with

Isnt the ignition key coded to the ECU? You need the key that goes with the new ECU.
Or use the old ECU that suits the existing key.
