Hi, l am new to Fiat 500's and have just taken possession of my first car which is second-hand and seems great fun. My only concern so far is the Handbook makes mention of the Codecard and to make sure it is passed on by the prior owner. I got the car from a Citreon franchise and they did not have it. Do I need to get one? What do they do exactly? Any advice appreciated :)

Hi, and welcome, :)

the card USED to be in the new car packs,:)

however - the UK insurance industry wasn't happy with the info to get a new set of keys being invariably found in the glovebox of a stolen car..

so the card is now available on request from FIAT UK,
TBH as long as you've got the 2 x working keys, that's all you are likely to need (y)

Oh thank you that is very reassuring and helpful. Seems there's no need to worry then.... but if in the worst case scenario I lost my battery remote key, can I presume that armed with proper ownership ID etc., any Fiat dealer could source me a replacement without me needing the actual Codecard? .... just in case....knowing my luck! (Just lost my garage remote this week!) Jayne

Oh good, and have just found the paintcode on the side of the boot, because I need a touch-up pen to sort a couple of chips out. On the hunt for a good pen in Bianco 268/A next :)
