Hi there. just joined the fiat forum becuase i just bought a punto a few weeks ago. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about fiat clutches? I had a cinquecento last year and the clutch went on that i sold that a few weeks ago and bought a punto. also my sister also has a cinquecento and had her clutch replaced last week and yesterday the clutch went on my punto. Just really wondered if they are kind of prone to things like this becuase it is rather annoying living in the middle of no where without a car and not being able to get to work.

Welcome to here noob (y) for a long list of things that happen go to the punto section and read some threads :)

Clutches go... fact, maybe the sellers knew they were going and offered the cars for sale and u were unlucky / lucky buyers who knows?

Not the end of the world, just get a good clutch properly fitted and replace everything else you need to while you got it in bits.

Save it being off the road too often in the future (gulp)

Good luck

any idea of how much it will cost becuase i cant remeber how much it was for my cinq:confused:

I read on a post on here Mr Clutch was a good price with a good warranty.

Replace the lot, pressure plate, release bearing, clutch plate, check the release fork and the slave cylinder maybe swap that too, do a bleed on it?

i have just spoke to the mechanic and its all been sorted :D

apparantly it was the release bearing had broken and the release arm had got bent up aswell.

glad that its done tho

Hope he swapped the driven kit too while it was all in bits?

not very good with engines as you could probaly guess. what does that do?
