Clutch, urgent problem!!!!!

Ok, so i go to pull off the line and i hear a ripping noise, metal on metal kind of noise, not nice, figure ill check it in a minute, get onto roundabout and i hear it again, the car now wont move, like th gears have no effect, put it into 1st and its just grinding, pushed it to a garage and then realised oil is leaking, major leak! from the flywheel cover area next to the oil sump, any ideas????? please i need help?????

Car is now sitting in a 24/7 texaco garage, thank god at least some where kind of safe!!

Clutch has gone at a guess Seb,

Can be the clutch, but if its leaking oil, it can also be the flywheel seals (dont know the right name)

i'm afraid to say sounds like the gear box. having been there twice i would almost guarantee that sorry mate

as bad as it sounds there should be plenty of 1.4's in scrap yards, get one from there. I warn you tho, they are not that cheap

ok, rang around and the garages are saying 5 - 700 over the phone, then theres recovery costs etc, gonna talk to my mechanic and i think break the car and sell it would make more i think

yea it is, i will look but might not be possible at the moment, might just upgrade to a 1.6 or 1.8. i dont know, will just see wat comes along i think.
