I was wondering if anyone could help me? Everytime I press my clutch in I hear a noise that sounds like a spring bouncing back after it has been released. A sort of ttsssssss sound! It started happening just after I had been driving my bravo up a steep mountain road with my bravo fully laden with people!

I have a 1.4S 1996

Cheers

Hello

I have begun to hear the same noise from mine and think it could be the clutch slave cylinder. The seals may be gone on this.

Is the brake fluid level OK ?
Do you feal any difference in performance ?

Sorry for late reply! No lack of performance at all. Just this distant noise. Its almost like a springy air noise. Sorry but thats the best I can describe it as! Dont know if it is doing damage or will I just leave it?

I have an identical problem.

The best I can describe it is a ball bearing running down a plastic tube.

Or a faint spring noise, whatever suits you.....

It happens when I release the clutch, then it slowly fades away.

It also happens when I apply the brake pedal, the exact noise.

Could it be some sort of mechanism connected to the pedal arms?

I doubt it is serious, but it would be one less rattle/squeak/strange noise to delete from my interior.
