what would cause the clutch to engage violently? its on a 1.1 saxo.

Tight cable, warped plate, dodgy springs on the cover plate, worn actuating lever....a 1.4 Saxo we had in the family had a fairly fierce clutch and that was fine.
Try SaxP but wait for a proper answer lol!
