clutch problems

hi all.just been out for a raz on a lovely sunny day and 3 miles from home the clutch pedal hits the floor,easy one just the clutch cable or so i thought,it seems that its a plastic pivit under the dash snapped,any one any ideas on the best way around this,is this common,fiat 1108 siecento sporting.ta doug

mine has just done the exact same thing, does my cable need replacing?
or could my plastic pivot gone too? how can i check im not very mechanical :/

just replaced the quadrant ,bloody pain in the arsss,take it in if ya not handy ,you can check 2 ways ,lift the bonnet and on the top of the gearbox is the clutch arm with the cable going to it,if its the cable it will be slack and you can pull it through the outer,if not its probly the quadrant.i managed a short cut,still its an ass job.
