Hi, I have a 95 Ulysse and find the clutch difficult and stiff, very difficult to ride, its a real problem in traffic on a hill. i have been told that this is a common problem on this car and its not fixable as it can not be adjusted, please tell me they are wrong and what can i do about it. Thanks :(

When was the clutch last replaced?

It may be worn, and the stiffness would come from worn/tired diaphragm springs.

Others can advise on cost, I have never had to get a clutch changed, but have seen invoices for £400+

Hi,

If you do decide to get a new clutch, as a guide I've just had mine replaced on 1998 2.0 EL Petrol at a cost of £295.32 fitted - with 20,000 ml / 2 year warranty.
If you know a tame mechanic you can obtain a clutch kit from between £60 & £100 and have them fit it.

Hope this helps.

Ant:)

iv had the same problem with my 98 ulysse for the last 6 months and on monday the clutch finally went.apparently its the thrush bearing shatters over time.just received a new clutch from eurocar parts £87 all in.and tomorrow the fun begins of replacing it.doing it myself if any body intrested in sum pics let me know.it will be very intresting to see the state of the f***ed clutch

Happy ending to my clutch issues. new clutch cable fitted, now feels like new, but cost me £100 to have done. :)
