hi recently changed slave cylinder as it was leaking and the clutch pedal made a clicking noise when pushed down, this was at about halfway down, after changing the slave cylinder, it now makes a loud clicking noise when your foot is all the way down and can be hard to push all the way down when you reach the bottom, not really sure whats going on, anyone know

Probably a worn drive plate... as they get old, the bearing will eventually start rubbing a groove in to the drive plate splines. as the splines are pushed in, the groove decreases in diameter, so the bearing pops out of this groove its worn - thats the click, and the stiffness is the bearing preventing the groove decreasing in size, hence making the clutch harder to press.

Photos show the problem that occurs, and a new clutch - notice theres no groove and the bearing hasn't worn out of shape...

Hi thanks for the reply, i was driving down the A3 and the clutch gradually got smoother and smoother until the problem completely disappeared, its been about 4 days now and the clutch pedal is the smoothest its ever been, should i still be worried about it or just wait and see if the problem starts again.

Thats odd lol. could be that the clutch bearing wasn't clipped in to the forks properly, and now its sorted itself, fingers crossed.
