Technical Clutch died on me today!!!

Thanks Fingers. Reading some other threads, I believe I done one common mistake which is remove the rod from the top of the selector. There is a small lever that is bolted to the selector and the rod is bolted to the lever. The rod needs to be unbolted from the lever. I did remove the lever together with the rod. I think I need to remove the selector cover now and see how to set it up together correctly. Hopefully this will do it. I am going to do this today, but this is gearbox and am likely to hit issues. Any tips are welcomed.

Yes, removing the selector from the top of gearbox revealed what went wrong. So locating the lever in the correct slot fixed the problem. So everything works now. Not too happy with the slight increase in car vibration which I believe could be because of the new cheap mount I had to replace.

Done some more extensive testing today and have to say that the extra vibration I am getting is not normal. The symptoms are as follows.

When cold the vibrations are worse. It vibrates under load between 1K-2K in any gear. Noise is transmitted into the cabin. Is better when engine warm.

So what could be wrong. Here are my suspects:

1. Engine mount went during the clutch change as it was the only thing holding the engine and a jack under the engine.
2. Driveshaft inner CV joints gone a bit as the drive shaft were removed during the clutch change.
3. Something went wrong in the clutch replacement.

To add one more item.
4. Possible exhaust internal failure. This is now actually my prime suspect. There is no evident leak but the engine sound is quite laud even when not in drive. I'll drive the car like this for a little bit longer, if the problem is indeed exhaust the noise should get louder in time and than the vibration/sound can be confirmed for sure.
